Luca Filastro, pianist and composer. Born April 30, 1992 is not a promise but a guarantee in the world of jazz pianism according to major artists such as Lino Patruno and Rossano Sportiello. He discovered his musical vocation when he was five years old due to the discs of Fats Waller, Jelly Roll Morton, Sidney Bechet and Louis Armstrong. He studied classical piano and get the Diploma with honors when he was 19. The complex pianism of Filastro is easily recognizable by his incredible sense of swing, blues and improvisation, in which Stride Piano, Swing, Bebop and Blues are mixed into a personal synthesis. In his way of playing there is the echo of the sounds of the great pianists like Fats Waller, Earl Hines, Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Nat King Cole, Bud Powell. His style is very influenced by the careful study of the great soloists of jazz as Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Roy Eldridge. He performs in jazz clubs, theaters, dance hall and festivals around the world.
